A LOOK BACK AT NOODLEHEAD GOVERNMENT IN NORTHERN NEVADA

Most pundits are reveling in THEIR recollections of the past.
Here is The Reno Citizen's (very brief, and we think you will agree, very poignant) synopsis of the year in local government... in no order of importance...
We left out a lot... but now it is 1999 and time to investigate this year's bad government.
Note: Actually it is the year 2000... but very little has changed... local government is as rotten and evil and noodleheaded as ever... maybe even more. Is that possible?
1. A huge military base is planned for the middle of Reno... in violation of all codes of common decency and good judgment... and the Constitution's 3rd Amendment: [No soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the owner]... AND with no Environmental Impact Study (EIS)... AND despite the terrible impact on thousands of innocent citizens... AND, AND, AND...
(Note: An EIS was even done for the 5-day Burning Man gathering out in the middle of nowhere.)

1a. In early 1999 Reno mayoral masquerader Griffin and scalawag airport czar Bart met secretly and unilaterally decided to "Go Postal... and Cargo" with the land they stole from the innocent citizens of Rewana Farms. This scheme benefits only the greedy Griffin Gang; which includes Bart. (Click here)
2. Union Pacific and the big downtown casinos get a free $$ railroad trench paid for by citizens' taxes.
3. A myriad of new Pork Barrel projects created for Reno's newest biggest Corporate Welfare business... the Construction Industry.
4. Mister Griffin's private companies (NFTS and Griffin Transport) continue to get kickback contracts.
4a. Mister Griffin continues to funnel tax dollars to cronies.
5. Reno city council voted huge illegal pay raises to themselves.. after citizens turned a payraise down.
6. An already questionable Voting Syatem is prostituted by Special Interests... with numerous doubtful election results. (click here)
7. Cancerous growth continues throughout city... resulting in more blight, sprawl, gridlock, road rage, danger, pollution... and more tax waste... with no end in sight.
8. The elitist Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) continues its policy of blighting northern Nevada at illegal secret meetings. (click here)
9. Huge sums of citizens' taxes were embezzled to pay for self-serving tawdry Mayors Conference... that resulted in no good for Reno's citizens. (click here)
10. A gargantuan far-reaching tax bond forced on citizens without a vote... by a perfidious city council and lame duck county commissars.
11. The Reno Airport continues to be unable to control its prostituted perversions.
12. City hall and city attorney continue to fail to obey the laws of the city... as they fail to acknowledge that the city Charter says what it means and means what it says. (click here)
13. Cronyism continues between elected officials and their campaign contributors and other fat cat buddies... example... the grotesque expansion of the gaudy Atlantis gambling saloon... after it bribed the mayor with a huge campaign contribution.
14. The Reno Sparks Convention Authority (RSCVA) concocts a bizarre scheme to squander more $$$millions of citizens' taxes in an attempt to increase the size of the convention buildings with no proof they can pay for it... or even provide parking in an area of town that is already grossly over-congested. 15. City hall pays one of the city manager's cronies $750 per day... to set up an ice skating rink.
16. City streets are an outrage... as road taxes are funneled to various city hall Pork Barrel projects.
17. City hall Propaganda Machine gets bigger... as more $$$ taxes are thrown at it. (click here)
18. Airport Propaganda Machine gets bigger... as more taxes are thrown at it by the aviation amateurs who continue to try to run the airport.
19. Citizens' property tax revenue continues its upward spiral... at the preposterous rate of 18% per year.
19a. And city hall wonders why innocent citizens are fighting against the huge annexation contrivance.
20. As the year ends, MISTER Griffin continues to pose as mayor despite flagrant violations of section 1.080 of the city charter that says mayors cannot serve after participating in self-indulgent pay raises.

21. Local propagandists continue to perpetrate the preposterous proposition that population of people in the area was growing at 1%. NOT! Look around at the pollution, gridlock, road rage, blight, sprawl, and kickback contracts... for the truth about cancerous growth.
One solution to this perfidiousness is make the Noodleheads act as if they were wasting their own money.
