The Scandal-Plagued Reno International Airport Bureaucrats

Note: The reports below apply to all of the evil air cargo schemes that the scandal-plagued Reno airport goons plan to
perpetrate against the innocent citizenry.
Their citizen-molesting schemes have the potential of making the RR Trench scheme look like child's
play... from every environmental and chicanerous aspect imaginable... noise, danger, blight, racketeering,
pollution, embezzlement, citizen-molesting... and of course $$$$ for the bad guys.

Their evil cargo dealings equate to over 420 cargo flights every day and all night... plus 1,000s of 18
wheeler double and triple tractor trailer trucks rumbling up and down Reno's pristine neighborhoods.
But guess what! Those massive cargo jets parked at the taxpayer-funded ramp fly out of Reno virtually empty.
They are nothing more than giant "decoy ducks"... sitting there trying to conjure up some sort of frenzied
need for cargo... when there really is none!
All of this to help justify the evil Reno airport's Ethnic Cleansing of Rewana Farms, Reno.
Reno Airport's Drawing of the Diabolical Hoax
Rewana Farms... approx 150 acres of land stolen from innocent Reno citizens for the profit of greedy
Special Interests... including imposter-mayor Griffin. s This dimwitted operation is right in the middle of town.

Note: The USPS scheme To Go Postal in Reno is peanuts compared to the real plot the Reno airport is perpetrating... worldwide cargo operations... see RGJ article of 12/18/99 pointing to subsidized operations... for everyone from Amazon to the Post Office.
The airport was able to funnel enough money away from the Runway Improvement Fund to build that special ramp which is acting as a catalyst (along with the theft of land from the Rewanians) to draw real cargo carriers like a magnet.
Just look at that massive warehouse at the Mt Rose Highway. It has mayoral imposter Griffin and cargo gang salivating like a bunch of greedy hogs.
Just look at Louisville airport. A citizens' nightmare! Hundreds and hundreds of UPS cargo flights a day...
Reno is next... because there is no oversight of the blatant corruption at the Reno Airport.

Thank you for adding my position of adamantly opposing the Reno Airport USPS plan to your records.

PS
This all started when over 1,000 normally peaceful citizens took a night out of their lives to demonstrate at the Peppermill Hotel against the airport's scheme to fly cargo planes over their homes and the homes of tens of 1,000s of other citizens. This grotesque plan by the Reno Airport aviation amateurs to "Go Cargo" out of the downtown airport has contributed to American Airlines' plan to virtually eliminate Reno from its route system... cutting flights from 45 to about 10. (click here for more on these crimes.)
A NIGHT TIME DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN?
In a startling revelation, visibly shaken Kitty Hawk Air, admitted that it is out of money and declared bankruptcy. The evidence is overwhelming (to anybody with at least a double digit IQ) that safety will suffer.
Even its Financial Officer jumped ship.
In a matter of weeks (as if to substantiate the dire nature of its operations) Kitty Hawk stock has plunged from $14 dollars down to pennies.
The cash strapped flybynight "airline" will be compelled to cut corners to keep flying.
Do the citizens of Reno want this "disaster waiting to happen" flying over their homes in the middle of the night?
Tell the aviation amateurs at the Reno Airport not to "Go Postal".
Kitty Hawk Air should be doing an Environmental Assessment... of THEMSELVES!
It must be also noted that Sacramento's Mather Airport has a much more citizen-friendly location and is much safer.

Reno Airport Postal "Airline" Goes Bankrupt (May 1, 2000)
By Brian Kelleher
DALLAS, May 1 (Reuters) - Kitty Hawk Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on
Monday after weeks of bad news that included a management shake-up and
warnings of worse-than-expected losses for its first quarter.

The company's shares have plummeted over 90 percent in 2000, knocked down due

to expectations of large losses and the recent dismissal of Tom Christopher,
Kitty Hawk's former chairman and chief executive officer.

Given the spate of bad news, the announcement of the bankruptcy filing did

not come as a surprise to analysts.

``It's not unexpected,'' Ray Neidl, an airline analyst at ING Barings, said

of the announcement. He said there are several reasons why the company
declared bankruptcy, but added ``They really haven't been too open about
what's been going on.''

On April 11, the company revealed that high fuel costs, delays and unexpected

costs for aircraft maintenance, as well as weaker-than-expected demand for
scheduled freight, ``seriously eroded cash resources'' and increased first
quarter losses.

``They have an older, more fuel-inefficient fleet...probably not (doing) a

lot of hedging,'' said Neidl, addressing the negative impact that rising fuel
costs have had on the company's operations.

The company also said on April 11 that it had failed to comply with the

engine maintenance requirements of its lenders for its fleet of Lockheed
Martin (NYSE:LMT - news) L-1011 and Boeing (NYSE:BA - news) 747 aircraft,
which may cost $35 million to fix.

Kitty Hawk said that as a result of its noncompliance, it might not be able

to pay the $17 million interest due on May 15 on its senior secured notes on
time, without selling or refinancing ``significant'' assets.

Kitty Hawk shares fell 80 percent in value in trading on April 12, trading

off 3-19/32 to 29/32 on the Nasdaq after the bad news was released.

``The deck is stacked against them at this point,'' said Ed Wolfe, an analyst

at Bear Sterns. On April 12, Wolfe predicted in a research note that failure
to make its debt payment could result in bankruptcy for the company.

``They're having trouble making their payments,'' Wolfe said on Monday,

refusing to get into specific details of the company's shortcomings.

On April 20, the company dismissed Christopher from his posts without cause,

naming President Tilmon Reeves as interim CEO and chairman until a permanent
successor is chosen.

In the same announcement, the company said it retained Seabury Advisors LLC

and its broker-dealer affiliate, Seabury Securities LLC, for advice on a
strategic business plan.

Despite hiring a financial advisor, the company was forced to suspend its

international operations on April 28 because of the cash constraints it
reported on April 11.

The shares of Kitty Hawk were halted in trading early on Monday afternoon by

the Nasdaq for news pending, last trading at 3/4, well below their 52-week
high of $14.

Wall Street expects the firm to post a huge net loss of 42 cents per share in the

first quarter, according to market research firm First Call/Thomson Financial.

Cargo Affairs (at Reno Airport STINK)
Contrary to your seriously flawed and derisive
editorial, the airport E.I.S. may be viewed as the
sprinkler system in a high-rise, causing serious water
damage, but saving the structure.
Casting aside your nonsensical chicken-before the egg
Postal hub argument, you seem to be purporting the
vision that the actual number of flights will remain
flat. If so, where’s the crying need for any expansion
at all? Is it true, as some have suspected, that it’s
pure empire building on the part of the powerful?
You cite the crying need for more facilities to
satiate the demand from dotcom commerce without
considering what Wall Street has been saying about
their redundancy, pyramid scheming, and inherent
inefficiency. Moreover, maybe you can give the public
some insight on the sinking commercial passenger
volumes and how this relates to any foreseeable need
for terminal expansion to the North. Then, according
to you, some startling overnight developments have
occurred that make the comings and goings of jet
planes completely silent. What is THAT all about?
Let me be as silly and far-fetched as you, and propose
that ½ of the existing passenger facility be shut down
and used for cargo. The net effect would be reasonable
consolidation of facilities, the luxury of not
assuming more debt, and the wise ability to hunker
down under what will most assuredly be some severe
economic pressures ahead for the Meadows.

Reno Airport Postal "Airline" Has Dangerous Cash Concerns (April 12, 2000)
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) -- Shares of air-freight carrier Kitty Hawk plummeted more
than 80 percent Wednesday after the company warned investors it could soon run out of cash.
Kitty Hawk said in a statement late Tuesday that it will be forced to restate its 1999 profits

and report a larger first-quarter loss than analysts had expected. It also said accounting firm Ernst & Young will report that it
cannot assure stockholders the company can remain in business.
Kitty Hawk said it is working with lenders to restructure its debt and is looking for buyers of some of its assets.
Investors seized on the news and began selling heavily. Kitty Hawk shares were down about 80 percent, sliding
$3. 59 to
90
cents at 4 p.m. Wednesday on the Nasdaq Stock Market. The stock hit a 52-week high of $14.12 1/2 in September.
The company, based at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, serves about 45 U.S. cities and operates in South America

and the Pacific Rim. Among its customers are the U.S. Postal Service, the U.S. military and major passenger airlines.
The company struggled after the 1997 acquisition of Kalitta Cos., which included a money-losing airfreight carrier. It closed a

charter passenger-service line and cut jobs.
Kitty Hawk blamed its problems this week on soft sales of freight services and heavy aircraft-maintenance costs.
The company said it is in default on engine-maintenance agreements included in its contracts for wide-body jets and might have

to spend $35 million -- money it doesn't have -- to fix the problem. The company also said it expects to miss a $17 million
interest payment due May 15.
Paul Tate, who joined Kitty Hawk on April 1 as senior vice president and chief financial officer, has resigned, the company said.
The company said Tate is expected to continue as a consultant.Founder and chief executive Tom Christopher owns about 35 percent of the company.

Dear Sirs,
1. Let me offer my condolences concerning the aircraft accident that just occurred.
2. On the other hand, let me continue to offer you support in your efforts to locate the Post Office hub at Mather airport. That is by far the best place for the operation.
3. If the crash of the DC-8 had happened in Reno, no less than 1,000 casualties could have been anticipated.
4. Reno is densely populated all around the airport and should not be any soliciting and illegally subsidizing air cargo operations.
5. I will not delve into the myriad other reasons that the Post Office should be at Mather. But I will point out that it is outlandish to have it in Reno. And the Post Office and Reno Airport should be ashamed of their ongoing quest to inundate this downtown airport with unhealthy, unsafe, and unneeded flights.
6. I have attended every Reno Airport and city council meeting and can attest to evil and wicked ways of the aviation amateur bureaucrats permeating those bodies.
7. Please contact me if there is ANYTHING I can do. For additional information refer to:

Dear Mr. Kozub,
Citizens of Reno applaud your efforts to knock some sense into the U.S. Postal Service's head... and convince them to establish their permanent base at Mather, California.
I, along with a massive amount of Reno citizens, applaud your efforts to make the Post Office establish their base at your airport. It makes far more sense than sticking it in the middle of Reno, Nevada.
I am a citizen here in Reno who has ended up devoting a large portion of his life to challenging the corruption that permeates the top level of bureaucrats at the Reno Airport... all of whom are aviation amateurs.
My endeavors have become a full-time (non-paying) "job".
The problems at the Reno Airport remind a person of an octopus... with 25 tentacles... as ubiquitous cronyism and nest-feathering drive the vast majority of the bone-headed decisions made by the brass.
It is common knowledge that airport managers/executive directors tend to be cliquish... please do not find yourself suckered into such paralysis of habit in this case.
I have attended every Reno Airport and Reno city council meeting in the last 5 years and am an expert when it comes to the perfidiousness of these critters.
You can find numerous articles about this scandal-plagued airport, and the scandal-plagued Reno mayor and his cronies in The Reno Citizen magazine at: http://www.renocitizen.com
Here is a VERY brief background describing how these bureaucrats are conniving to Go Postal at the Reno Airport:
* airport cargo/postal schemes are driven by the goal to enrich the greedy mayor and his cronies (some of whom sit on the airport board),
* the airport gave the mayor an illegal monopolistic kickback contract to run the Foreign Trade Zone to the detriment of the community,
* the airport has funneled huge sums of money to this wrongful Postal Project... without even a contract in hand; such as $6,000,000 taken from the runway improvement fund to build a special one-time temporary ramp for USPS,
* the airport is literally stealing land from innocent citizens (using various "cleansing" techniques... including condemnation) to eventually put the Post Office and numerous other private cargo carriers in place (corporate welfare at its worst),
* the Reno environment is far too tenuous for these types of operations... including the subsidizing of vast trucking armadas that will be devastating to the ground atmosphere,
* Reno airport is closed more than 5 times/year... far more than you say Mather airport has been closed.
* 1000 (normally mild-mannered) citizens took time out from their lives to adamantly protest the postal scheme at the Peppermill casino last year,
* the EA is a farce... being conducted by the same gang that wants to go postal and cargo at the Reno airport... veritably a crook hiring his own judge and jury,
* the airport's million dollar taxpayer funded propaganda machine has distorted the truth and lied to the citizenry on numerous occasions about the true reasoning behind the plot to Go Postal,
Remember, this is a very brief synopsis of why the Post Office should be permanently flying out of Mather.
As a citizen of America you should be proud to be able to stand in the way of the deceptive perversions the Reno Airport is trying to perpetrate.
I offer my assistance... and wish you well in your attempt to get the Post Office flying out of a base where it belongs... and away from Reno... where it doesn't belong.
I apparently have a fairly good track record when it comes to keeping undesireable and/or unneeded businesses from coming to Reno. Late last year the Reno Sparks Convention Authority credited me with having the clout to convince the gigantic Outdoor Retailers from having its convention here.
I did this with just one letter... even shorter than this one.

Dear Mr Kozub,
As a citizen, I do not see why you should not be able to "comment further" and enter into discussions with a concerned citizen who is intricately knowledgeable of the scandal-plagued Reno Airport.
1. I object strenuously to the Reno Airport's attempt to bring this additional unwanted and unneeded blight to Reno, and I have every right to enter into the process.
2. I have information that I KNOW you will not receive from the self-serving aviation amateurs at the Reno Airport. I had also planned to refer you to Ms. Jackie Decker... who is at least as knowledgeable about the perfidiousness of Reno Airport brass as I am... even more so in some areas.
3. You will be doing yourself and your Airport a terrible disservice by leaving me/us out of the loop.
4. The Reno Airport bureaucrats (who are in cahoots with the person masquerading around as mayor of Reno... who has an illegal Foreign Trade Zone contract with the airport) cannot be trusted to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
5. I even heard a rumor that you met with Reno Airport staff this week. Reread #4 above. To paraphrase former president Reagon; Don't trust... but verify.
6. Sparks city council has taken a very strong stance against the Post Office bringing its problems to Reno.
Time is of the essence!

The Reno Airport is misappropriating FAA "Noise" money in a plot to confiscate land from innocent citizens under the guise of eminent domain. The scandal-plagued airport is then going to make that ill-gotten land available to private Air Cargo Companies... as poignantly portrayed on the attached schematic that shows 35 giant cargo jets squeezed onto property that used to belong to citizens.
This scheme equates to over 200 additional cargo flights per day and night... ringing a virtual death blow to Reno's very delicate environment... with pollution, noise, danger, and blight perpetrated upon dozens of thousands of innocent citizens.
Eminent domain is taking private property for public good. The Reno Airport is taking private property for PRIVATE GOOD. This is wrong!
The schematic is bona fide proof that the Environmental Assessment is window-dressing, and is not worth the paper it was written on.
The very fact that citizens have to write their objections to a Postal Service bureaucrat is further evidence that the process is a charade... a perfidiously prostituted perversion. It would be easier to ask the devil for permission to take an air conditioner to hell...
This entire sordid chapter in aviation history here in Reno demands a Federal Investigation. If this were to happen, heads would role.

First Letter Protesting Postalization of Reno:
Mr Hanna,
It disturbs me greatly to have to write to you. It goes against my grain to be required to go to the perpetrator of potentially one of the worst problems Reno will ever be faced with... and expect that perpetrator to be fair and unbiased... when that perpetrator stands to gain from the very scheme that I (and dozens of thousands of other citizens) object to. Over 1,000 citizens took a night out of their lives to vehemently protest against this grotesque manipulation of the law.
To put it simply, I do not want the Reno Airport to Go Postal... or Cargo for that matter. I find it abhorrent that my taxes are being wasted subsidizing or soliciting such moronic ideas.
There are a myriad of reasons why this is a stupid thing to do to Reno, and here are just a few... in no order of negative priority.
Postal and Cargo Hubbing should be banned at Reno for the following reasons:
1. They are too noisy.
2. They are too dangerous.
3. They are too polluting.
4. They are too damaging to property values.
5. They generates lousy jobs.
6. They do not pay proper and sufficient state corporation or inventory taxes and thus will be a terrible burden on the citizenry who will be left cleaning up the mess and problems.
7. They are blatant corporate welfare.
8. It is abhorrent to ethnically cleanse innocent citizens from their homes (Rewana Farms) where the Airport and Postal Service want to establish their illicit Cargo operations.
9. Reno's environment is already in too much jeopardy and this outlandish plot will exacerbate the messy situation.
10. Reno's mayoral-impostor has terrible conflicts with the airport, and he and his warehousing cronies stand to benefit personally. This is wrong. His actions in support of this mess are against the laws of Nevada.
To reiterate; Reno does not want or need a Postal and Cargo hub. The concept stinks. A full Environmental Impact Study is demanded. All of the local government entities have officially ordered this, and they must be listened to.
I request the right as a citizen to present oral opposition to Reno Airport Going Postal and Cargo.
