  SAM DEHNE (775) 825-1398 is living in Reno, Nevada with his sweet little Pit Bull guard dog Dakota.  He is trying to enjoy life by helping the community as the Editor of The Reno citizen Magazine... and has given up traveling.  He has a son, a daughter, and a stepdaughter... and 6 grandchildren.  You can read more about Sam by clicking HERE and HERE and HERE.

           Barely made the cut (290 out of 298 Graduates), but then things got better. ---- F-4 Fighter Weapons School and USAF Test Pilot School. ---- Wing Weapons Officer at Seymour (4th TFW) and Da Nang (366th TFW). ---- Flew the A-4, A-6, A-7, A-26, F-4, F-8, F-14, F-15, F-16, F-100, F-111, and others less exciting. --- Captain's rating in the DC-8, 747, and 747-400. ---- Elder in Presbyterian Church USA. --- Married to Lynn, Miss Fire Prevention 1957, for 44 years as of December 2007. ----- Daughter Angela, Duke '88, US Secret Service Agent. ---- Son Edwin, USAFA '89, Air Force pilot, Orthopedic Surgeon. ---- Four incredibly good grandsons. ---- A great God, great country, great family, great people, great airplanes, dark beer, racquetball, and home. 'Everything else is rubbish'. ---- I thought the time in the Air Force would have lasted longer; the years passed too soon.

        In 1996, cancer ended my 42 years with USAF (enlisted, cadet, officer, civilian). Since, I have been reading, drinking, cultivating my yard on a Florida barrier island and checking the computer.  I also enjoy the company of my Irish wife of 45 years, two sons, one daughter and 5 grandchildren who all live nearby.

    Living in Elk Grove, CA (so of Sacramento), along with 3 of my 4 “kids” (oldest one is in FL along with 2 grandkids), my wife Peggy of 31 years, and 2 dogs. Since USAF retirement I’ve been a college student, tax preparer, computer tech, project manager, business manager & accountant, failed business owner, & car salesman. Do a lot of fiction reading, sail a bit, walk and bike ride some.

    I am currently the Director of Real Estate for the redevelopment of the former Lowry AFB, a place near and dear to all of us.  '59 and '61 recently had gatherings at Lowry to reminisce-the change is incredible!  Gerri and I (45 years, two kids, five grandkids) would be happy to host a tour for any RTB passing through or in Denver.
