REASONS WHY I FEEL I AM QUALIFIED for:
Appointment to the Washoe County Airport Authority Board

As a Reno citizen for many years, and as an individual with a strong background in leadership and management in commercial and military aviation, I will be able to effectively serve the interests of the people of Reno as their advocate.
My management and organizational skills, as demonstrated by my experience as an Air Force officer and as a flight officer with Pan American Airlines, indicate my potential to assist in troubleshooting situations and for making positive contributions to the Board. I offer proven ability in such areas as cost analysis, budget management, problem solving, labor relations, and staff development involving Reno citizens and residents.
Just one of my accomplishments as a military manager saved U.S. taxpayers more than $1,000,000,000.00 billion dollars. My proven abilities include cost analysis, budget management, problem solving, labor relations, and staff development.
Airport operations in Washoe County are important for the continuing prosperity of the local economy. Air transportation is directly tied to the health of tourism and business activities. At the same time, aviation operations must be consistent with uncompromised public safety, effective public relations, and competent business practices.
My knowledge of local issues that bear upon the area's economy and quality of life is widescope. I am well-known in the community and have demonstrated my willingness to get involved in pursuing worthwhile causes by often speaking before the Council and by producing The Reno Citizen newsletter and internet magazine. Further, it is my practice to attend any public meetings held to discuss such issues as the expansion of the Reno-Tahoe Airport.
As an energetic and healthy individual with much time to give to the task, I will be better able to contribute to the Board's mission than would an individual with heavy time demands.
I invite questions from anyone having same.
Respectfully submitted,
1 April, 1997
