"Demand for EIS may be harmful"
(Deceitful) Editorial by Reno Gazette-Journal
Not! (Note: This most recent outrageous packed-with-perversions "editorial" was written by the RGJ because it is in cahoots with their money-bagged aviation amateur friends mis-running the Reno Airport. It demands a paragraph by paragraph response.)
RGJ Vomit: Even before an Environmental Assessment of plans to move cargo operations to the
southwest corner of the airport is completed, the Washoe County Commission and Reno
City Council have thrown a monkey wrench into the works by demanding that the Airport
Authority of Washoe County conduct a much more expensive and time-consuming
Environmental Impact Statement.

A full EIS is demanded for this massive citizen-molesting scheme. The potential negative impact on the community even outweigh the negative impact of the train trench scheme and other schemes that have had full EIS's. Kudos to Reno council and Washoe commission for following Sam Dehne's directives.
RGJ Vomit: There is, of course, a legal procedure that the airport must follow in assessing
the environmental impacts of its projects. The EA comes first; if anything
significant is found, an EIS must be done; otherwise, the project goes ahead.
The two boards, however, want to skip the first step and move right on to the
second, even though the draft EA found the project would have little impact. It
was an odd position for the boards, comprised of politicians who have claimed to
be protectors of the taxpayers’ money. Commissioner Pete Sferrazza and City
Councilwoman Jessica Sferrazza-Hogan, who proposed the resolutions approved
unanimously by the commission and by a 4-3 vote of the council, in particular
have campaigned against unwise expenditures by other agencies. Yet, they told
the airport authority Tuesday that it should spend $1 million in public money and
delay facilities that are much needed by existing tenants at the airport for at least
two years … all for a study that would be of little benefit to the airport or the
community at large.

These bogus EA's have been bought and paid for by either the scandal-plagued Reno Airport and/or their Air Cargo cronies; including the greedy Griffin Gang. These fraudulent EA's are window-dressing farces... that are looking for questions to the answers ("let's Go Postal and let's go Cargo") that the Airport Gang has already given them.
And the RGJ's bogus whining about the "$1 million in public money" is pure subterfuge. The RGJ has conveniently failed to report that the airport crooks have embezzled, laundered, and funneled much larger sums of public tax dollars into illegal projects. This $1 million of "public money" is relative chicken feed. Just one example of airport tax-laundering is the $$ millions and $$ millions that were misappropriated (with collusion by their cronies at the FAA) to steal land from innocent citizens in Rewana Farms, Reno... under the deceitful guise of "Noise". Not one of those ethnically cleansed citizens ever complained about noise.
Then there is the $4.5 million that was flat stolen from the "Runway Improvement" taxes to build a massive "temporary" cargo ramp for UPS, FedEx, the Post Office, et al. Citizens can see this one-of-a-kind corporate welfare cargo ramp just north of the passenger terminal... across the street from the Airport Plaza hotel.
RGJ Vomit: In approving the resolutions, the commission and council allowed themselves to
be confused by residents determined to stop a U.S. Postal Service sorting hub in
Reno at any cost. They had already successfully backed the airport authority
against a wall: If the authority did not include the impacts of the proposed — but
not yet approved — postal hub (which is the subject of a separate environmental
assessment) in the environmental assessment of the cargo facilities, it would be
accused of deceit; if it included the postal hub, as it did, the authority would be
said to have admitted that the hub is the reason for new cargo facilities, which it
is not. The County Commission and City Council bought the opponents’
arguments hook, line and sinker.

It is much better to "buy" the citizens' viable arguments... than to listen to the bogus brainwashing by the Reno Airport crooks... and their bought-and-paid-for cronies at the Reno Gazette. The airport's counterfeit EAs are pure bought and paid for hogwash. Period! For once the commission and council did not "buy" the RGJ's propaganda. The RGJ continues to be an insult to the term "Freedom of the Press".
RGJ Vomit: The fact is that the new cargo facility makes eminent sense for the airport and for
the community, whether or not the postal hub is ever approved. The cargo facility
will not create a single new flight; cargo flights are a function of demand, and
demand is increasing, not because of some nefarious plan by airport officials but
because the economy is growing. The distribution industry is booming in northern
Nevada, thanks to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Pfizer and others that have opened
centers here or will soon. As important, the number of us ordering goods over the
Internet is increasing, and those goods are showing up on our front porches in a
few days because of the cargo carriers who use the Reno airport. Already such
carriers as FedEx, UPS and the U.S. Postal Service (not the sorting hub but its
normal airport operations) are growing out of their facilities, and the airport is
obligated to provide them the space they need to grow.

This is yet another paragraph started with bald-faced RGJ deception. An outlandish statement that is then expounded upon as if it was the truth. There is virtually zero benefit to the community from this pork barrel project... unless one thinks that the Griffin Gang, UPS, FedEx, Amazon, and the other members of this cargo cartel are "the community". The danger, blight, and pollution attacks on the community, from just the ground traffic of 1,000s of giant diesel trucks serving these huge cargo jets... are enough to give a giant "thumbs down" on this unilateral Reno airport scheme to "Go Postal and Go Cargo".
The RGJ's own facts PROVE that those cargo companies are nowhere near growing out of their taxpayer-funded corporate welfare "facilities". Their loads are very light... even after those huge jets sit around all day waiting for cargo. And then check the content of those cargo loads. They're hauling books and batteries! It is a proven fact that you cannot make a profit airlifting heavy bulky stuff like books and batteries. Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Igo.com, and the like are living proof! Look at their profit-loss statements. And look at their stocks that have plummeted over 90%. Geez!

And the worst brainwshing of all! NOWHERE does the law say that the airport is obligated to provide these gigantic PRIVATE companies space to grow. NOWHERE! This is sleazy Corporate Welfare at its worst. And a decent newspaper would know that. Geez!
RGJ Vomit: So, the only question is where the expanded facilities will be built, and the
southwest corner is the most obvious candidate because it would allow the
eventual, inevitable extension of the passenger terminal northward (a better idea
than the previous plan to expand south, which required moving the Air National
Guard base to the Rewana Farms area). Parking areas for planes will be built
alongside a taxiway they already use. The planes will taxi in, park with engines
off while they’re unloaded or loaded, and then taxi away again. As the draft EA
suggests, the impact should be minor, if there is any at all.

There are many other questions that need asking. Here are just a few:
Why are OUR taxes being wasted on $millions and $millions of dollars of infrastructure for these PRIVATE companies? These are the type of companies that will add NOTHING to the community. They are the types of businesses that will devastate the community with noise, danger, blight, pollution. They will mutilate the citizenry more than that nuclear waste dump. Look what has happened already; 14 dead in Rewana Farms, Reno... and who knows how many thousands of citizens are suffering from the harmful fallout of the noxious fuel burn-off fumes.
Why hasn't the RGJ clamored for an investigation of the airport's money laundering operations?
Why hasn't the RGJ demanded an investigation into Griffin's illegal kickback contracts?
Why hasn't the RGJ assigned an honest reporter to attend airport meetings?
The really big question that must be asked is why is the RGJ prostituting itself for the airport... perpetrating fraud upon the citizenry?
RGJ Vomit: This should be good news to the Reno-Sparks community. It shows the
economy is humming along and diversification is succeeding, with the help of
good transportation. Yet the Washoe County Commission and Reno City Council
apparently think that’s a bad thing. That, at least, is the message they sent to
businesses considering moving to the area and to airlines that might consider
serving Reno: Every proposal that might increase flights at the airport, cargo or
commercial, will be subject to an EIS, so don’t even try, they seemed to say.

The (cargo) business is not "humming along". There is almost no cargo going out in those giant cargo jets... that sit idle at that taxpayer-funded $4,500,000 ramp all day long... waiting to take off with a pittance of books and batteries. If business is so good, let these PRIVATE companies pay their own way... Instead of letting them grovel off the corporate welfare government trough. Other companies have to fend for themselves. Why are these Griffin-Airport-RGJ "darlings" being given special taxpayer-funded handouts?
RGJ Vomit: Is that really what the commission and council wanted? If so, the future of this
community has just gotten rather bleak.

An EIS is rarely a perfect solution. But it is infinitely better than letting the foxes continue to guard the chickens... with these EA hoaxes. The truth is that Reno's future is already bleak... thanks in no small part to the RGJ's never-ending distortions and omissions of the truth. If they would print the truth about the Reno airport, that has been exposed over and over by Sam Dehne and a very few other citizens, then maybe some steps could be taken to get Reno back on its feet.
As long as the current evil rotten Reno regime and its scandal-plagued airport puppets remain in power, then there is little hope.
One citizen's thoughts (now here is some Sarcasm!):
DEAR SIR, I WILL RESPOND TO YOUR LETTER IN CAPS IN THE ARTICLE BELOW. I HOPE MY RESPONSE WILL SATISFY YOU.
(I HOPE YOU ENJOY THIS COMMENTARY TO LIGHTEN YOUR LOAD, SAM. EVERYTHING YOU SAY IS ON THE MONEY AND NOT FUNNY, BUT IT'S ALWAYS GOOD TO FIND A BIT OF HUMOR. BEST WISHES AND REMEMBER, DO YOU REALLY WANT TO PUT YOURSELF OUT OF WORK? IF SO, KEEP IT UP.)

Demand for EIS may be harmful
(Deceitful) Editorial by Reno Gazette-Journal

(Note: This most recent outrageous packed-with-perversions "editorial" was written by the RGJ because it is in cahoots with their money-bagged aviation amateur friends mis-running the Reno Airport. It demands a paragraph by paragraph response.) CAHOOTS? MY FRIEND, IT'S JUST PLAIN 'OL GOOD OLD FASHION CORRUPTION. HOW DARE YOU EVEN THINK FOR A MOMENT THIS IS NOT PROPER BUSINESS. IT'S HOW THE DISHONEST GET RICH. WHAT DO YOU WANT? YOU WANT THEM TO SUFFER POVERTY LIKE THE LOWLY TAXPAYER? SHAME ON YOU!
RGJ Vomit: Even before an Environmental Assessment of plans to move cargo operations to the

The potential negative impact on the community even outweigh the negative impact of the train trench scheme and other schemes that have had full EIS's. Kudos to Reno council and Washoe commission for following Sam Dehne's directives. YES, THEY SHOULD DO IT RIGHT MR. DEHNE, BUT IF THEY DID YOU WOULD BE OUT OF A JOB. NO MORE ATTENDING MEETINGS. NO MORE BLASTING THE POOR BUGGERS WITH HONEST CRITICISM. SAVE YOURSELF, SAM. WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITHOUT THEM, FEED THE GEESE AT THE SPARKS MARINA?
RGJ Vomit: There is, of course, a legal procedure that the airport must follow in assessing
the environmental impacts of its projects. The EA comes first; if anything
significant is found, an EIS must be done; otherwise, the project goes ahead.
The two boards, however, want to skip the first step and move right on to the
second, even though the draft EA found the project would have little impact. It
was an odd position for the boards, comprised of politicians who have claimed to
be protectors of the taxpayers’ money. THEY LIED, SAM. IS THAT A CRIME? BE KIND TO THEM, YOU NEED THEM.
HEY, THE MONEY HAS GOT TO BE SPENT OR THE TAXPAYERS WILL WANT SOME OF IT BACK. SO, WHY NOT LET THEM SPEND IT ON CRONY FRIENDS SO THEY CAN PAY THEIR CHRISTMAS BILLS? GEE, SAM. HAVE A HEART, HUH?
Truth: These bogus EA's have been bought and paid for by either the scandal-plagued Reno Airport and/or their Air Cargo cronies; including the greedy Griffin Gang. DON'T YOU DISRESPECT THE GODFATHER, SAM. These fraudulent EA's are window-dressing farces... that are looking for questions to the answers ("let's Go Postal and let's go Cargo") that the Airport Gang has already given them. THEY WILL CHEAT TO PUT MONEY IN THEIR POCKETS. THE PROBLEM IS, SAM BELIEVES CHEATING IS DISHONEST. FOR A POLITICIAN CHEATING IS HONESTY. SO, ARE WE AS PUBLIC CITIZENS GOING TO BOLDLY REMAIN QUIET AND LET THEM CHEAT? SAM WILL NOT ALLOW THIS TO BE AND HE WILL BE THE CAUSE OF STOPPING CORRUPTION AND PILFERING BY OUR ELECTORATE FRIENDS. SHAME ON YOU SAM, SHAME, SHAME, SHAME.
And the RGJ's bogus whining about the "$1 million in public money" is pure subterfuge. The RGJ has conveniently failed to report that the airport crooks have embezzled, laundered, and funneled much larger sums of public tax dollars into illegal projects. IT'S ONLY MONEY. WHY DO YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT $4.5 MILLION WHEN SO MUCH MORE HAS BEEN STOLEN? JUST CHICKEN-FEED, SAM, JUST NICKELS AND DIMES.
RGJ Vomit: In approving the resolutions, the commission and council allowed themselves to
be confused by residents determined to stop a U.S. Postal Service sorting hub in

Truth: It is much better to "buy" the citizens' viable arguments... than to listen to the bogus brainwashing by the Reno Airport crooks... and their bought-and-paid-for cronies at the Reno Gazette. The airport's counterfeit EAs are pure bought and paid for hogwash. Period! For once the commission and council did not "buy" the RGJ's propaganda. The RGJ continues to be an insult to the term "Freedom of the Press". I MUST DISAGREE WITH YOU, SAM. THE RGJ IS NOT CORRUPT, THEY ARE WORSE!
RGJ Vomit: The fact is that the new cargo facility makes eminent sense for the airport and for

IF YOU KEEP IT UP YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PUTTING THEM OUT OF BUSINESS AND ON THE WELFARE ROLES. WE DON'T NEED MORE WELFARE PEOPLE, SAM. DO YOU WANT THIS ON YOUR CONSCIOUS?
Truth: This is yet another paragraph started with bald-faced RGJ deception. An outlandish statement that is then expounded upon as if it was the truth. There is virtually zero benefit to the community from this pork barrel project... unless one thinks that the Griffin Gang, HEY, USE RESPECT "OUR GODFATHER" UPS, FedEx, Amazon, and the other members of this cargo cartel are "the community". SO NOW YOU DON'T WANT ANYBODY TO READ BOOKS OR PUT BATTERIES IN OUR TOYS? SOON SANTA CLAUSE WILL NOT EVEN BE ABLE TO LAND BECAUSE OF SAM... THAT'S WHAT THE CROOKS ARE SAYING ABOUT YOU AS WE SPEAK.
And the worst brainwshing of all! NOWHERE does the law say that the airport is obligated to provide these gigantic PRIVATE companies space to grow. NOWHERE! This is sleazy Corporate Welfare at its worst. And a decent newspaper would know that. Geez! WHAT IS A DECENT NEWSPAPER? * Why hasn't the RGJ clamored for an investigation of the airport's money laundering operations? HANDS IN THE PIE, SAM.
* Why hasn't the RGJ demanded an investigation into Griffin's illegal kickback contracts? WILL EXPOSE THEMSELVES.
* Why hasn't the RGJ assigned an honest reporter to attend airport meetings? NO SUCH ANIMAL.
* The really big question that must be asked is why is the RGJ prostituting itself for the airport... perpetrating fraud upon the citizenry? SELLS NEWSPAPERS AND PADS BANK ACCOUNTS OF BUDDIES.
